MotoPark LDN

FAQ

Is this app free?

Yes. The map, search, navigation links and all features are free. There is no signup wall. Business listings are a separate paid product for commercial parking operators.

Where does the data come from?

Most parking locations were imported from OpenStreetMap where contributors tag motorcycle bays with amenity=motorcycle_parking. Riders can also add new spots through the in-app form. Every submission is geocoded by address and checked for duplicates.

How accurate is the data?

Coordinates come from OpenStreetMap where riders have placed pins at the exact bay location — these are generally accurate to within a few metres. However, restrictions, signage and bay availability change. Always verify at the location. Use the flag button to report errors.

How do I add a bay?

Go to Add a bay or open the map and tap Add Spot. Enter a street address, number of bays, type and any useful details. The backend geocodes the address to coordinates. Only submit locations you have personally verified.

How do I report a problem?

Tap the flag icon on any spot card or detail page. Choose a reason: wrong location, permit-only, doesn't exist, not free, or other. Reports go directly to the maintainer for review.

Can I park on the pavement?

MotoPark LDN does not advise or endorse pavement parking. Pavement parking rules vary by London borough and are not consistent. The map shows marked motorcycle bays and known parking locations — it does not indicate where pavement parking is legal. Always check local signs and the road markings at the location.

Who runs MotoPark LDN?

The map was built and is maintained by Paolo Parodi, an independent London-based rider and developer. It is not affiliated with TfL, any council, or a commercial operator. Read more on the About page →

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes. MotoPark LDN is a progressive web app — it works in any browser. On Chrome or Edge you can install it to your home screen for one-tap access. On iPhone Safari, use Share → Add to Home Screen.

Does this work offline?

Not currently. The map needs an internet connection to load parking data from the server. Spot detail pages you have already viewed may be available from cache.
